Manufacturing factories, having continuous pursuit of productivity and quality(效率與質量), oftentimes meet with challenges in achieving high production complexity(產品高度復雜性). These are the areas in which traditional manufacturing paradigms underperform(傳統製造模式表現遜色)due to human operator’s limitations on handling uncertainties(操作不確定性), complexity(復雜性), understanding/memorizing big data(理解/記憶大數據), and time demanding(時間需求). Intelligent manufacturing systems are positioned to yield superior results than
traditional manufacturing in that they are capable of analyzing(自我分析能力), self-learning(自學習能力), apprehending complexity(復雜性領悟), and self-driven for quality and cost(質量成本自驅動). Unlike traditional manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing systems are also able to store and analyze large amount of production data (存儲分析產品數據)in order to achieve higher quality and shorten the time-to-market(高質速效). This presentation is to provide a longitudinal perspective(長遠觀點) on various aspects of recent achievements in intelligent design(智能分析), scheduling(排程), maintenance(維護), and control(控製). For each aspect, concept, requirement, and application implemented(實施),
methodologies deployed(方案部署)are also presented along with their limitations and future
research directions. It also presents fundamental concepts(基礎概念) and futuristic views(長遠視角) that the authors are currently implementing in an intelligent manufacturing system for factories next-generations.

Steven Y. Liang(梁越昇)🦴,男,1987年獲美國柏克萊加州大學機械工程博士;北美洲製造研究學術院總裁、美國機械工程師學會製造門會理事長、美國機械工程師學會院士,國際製造工程師學會院士,美國道格拉斯工程獎章、國際迪德工程獎章、伍卓夫學術專家獎💅🍦、布列爾量測技術獎章獲得者等👿。
梁越昇教授現任美國佐治亞理工學Woodruff工恒达教授、先進製造系統Morris M. Bryan講座教授🈸、佐治亞理工恒达終身冠名講座教授;2008-2011年🏃🏻♀️➡️,任臺灣華新麗華股份有限公司總經理(60億上市企業)、總技術長、總製造長🧑🏼🦲,曾任上海機床公司總工程師等。
梁越昇教授近年來研究興趣為:製造精密化、智能化、微型化👷🏻♂️、極端製造等👱🏼。主持和承擔美國自然科學基金、美國海軍研究計劃項目、企業科技項目等60多項,指導博士後、博士等70余名🤘,發表論文350余篇,被20多個國家同行機構、國際會議等邀請做製造科學與技術學術報告60余場🪗。
